Same Day CEREC Crowns

Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) is a modern digital dentistry technology that allows Dr. Maher Albouz to create a custom-designed ceramic crown to restore a decayed or damaged tooth. The dental crown is shaped and colored to match the surrounding teeth using the CEREC technology. During the same appointment, the dentist will place your new crown.

CEREC same-day crowns are quick, durable, and convenient, serving as an efficient option for dental restorations. To design a CEREC same-day crown, all Dr. Maher Albouz needs to do is capture digital images of your teeth, and the CEREC system will fabricate your custom ceramic crown in a single visit.

Preparation and Digital Impressions

The first step in the dental crown procedure is to prepare the tooth. First, the dentist will numb the area around the tooth and then remove any decay or damage. Once the tooth is prepared, digital impressions will be taken of your natural teeth. These digital impressions will be used to create a 3D model of your tooth, used to make your crown.

CEREC Crown Fabrication

Once the digital impressions are taken, your crown will be fabricated using CAD/CAM technology. The CAD/CAM machine will take the 3D model of your prepared tooth and create a custom-made dental crown that is specifically designed to fit your tooth. The entire process takes about an hour, and you will be able to watch your CEREC crown being made right in front of you.

CEREC Crown Placement

Once our cosmetic dentist has fabricated your customized crown, it will be meticulously placed on your tooth and assessed for the perfect fit. The dentist will bond the crown in place if everything looks good. Once the crown is bonded, you will be able to leave the dentist’s office with a brand-new, beautiful tooth.

No Temporary Crown

With the CEREC technology, there is no need for a temporary crown. This means you will not have to worry about your temporary restorations coming loose or falling out.

Shorter Appointment Time

The CEREC technology offers same-day crowns and can be made in a single appointment, typically about an hour long. Traditional dental crowns require two appointments, and the entire process can take several weeks.

No Need for Dental Impressions

With these same-day dental crowns, there is no need for dental impressions. Digital impressions are taken instead, and used to create a 3D model of your tooth.
